Investment potentials

• Economic structure: metal processing and agricultural-food complex dominate;
• Enterprises are undergoing privatization from food industry, wood and furniture industry; metal processing enterprises are undergoing restructuring;
• Specific potentials in the food industry, fruit production and processing, juices, beer, alcohol beverages production, raising stock   and slaughterhouse industry, building and building materials industry, that are export-related as well;

-      Austrian company “Austrotherm

-      Italian “Golden Lady”. The factory in Belosevac employs over 500 workers, its capacity will be expanded creating new jobs for 600-1000 people.

• The construction of ”Gorenje” factory has begun and the distribution center in Valjevo is expected
• Major infrastructural projects in the municipality, include the following:

-    Completion of works on the Paklje pump station and Rovni dam and   accumulation (II stage);

-    Construction of central heating plant and hot water supply worth EUR 13-14 M;

-    Gas supply project to be implemented within the national gas supply plan;

-    Recycling and remediation of the existing solid waste dump (II stage), as well as the construction of a sanitary landfill worth about EUR 2 M;

-    Environmental projects under the methodology adopted in the capacity building and environmental protection project,

-    Continuous improvements in waterworks and waste water treatment at Divcibare worth about EUR 2 M;

-    Continuous improvements in the electric power supply and construction of a dual tariff system (i.e. peak and non-peak rates);

- Some enterprises have projects and programs increasing their capacities in fruit production and processing, wood processing, metal processing, construction and other industries and services.
